We believe in the Holy Bible as the standard of salvation. Which is baptism by immersion in water the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues and perfecting Holiness.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. We believe the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed.
We believe that all scriptures were inspired by God concerning his Son, Jesus Christ:
" And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. (1 John 4:14-15)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
We believe that all unrighteous is sin and our sins separate us from God (1 John 5:17, Isaiah 59:2). We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance of the sins, faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God, and being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38).
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. " 1 John 1:8-9
We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, is given to believers:. "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:4)
The Holy Ghost is given to them that obey God. (Acts 5:32).
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world.
We believe that God hates divorce and intended marriage to last until one spouse dies.
Divorce and remarriage is said to be adultery in Holy Scriptures, and we believe what is written in His Word.
The Lord permits separation, but commands that the spouses remain unmarried or be reconciled to their spouse: (Malachi 2:14-17, Matthew 19:3-9, Romans 7:1-3, 1Timothy 3:2,12, Titus 1:6, 1 Corinthians 7:11).
We believe that the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful practices and association is commanded by God (2Tim. 3:1-5, Rom. 12:1-2, 1 John 2:15-17, 2John 9-11, 2Cor. 6:14-7:1). This would include a separation from immodesty, ungodly habits and worldly places that would be considered a bad testimony for a Christian to engage in. All who profess Christ must separate themselves from anything that the Bible speaks against, by principle or precept. We believe that the Bible teaches against immodesty, immorality, and iniquities, but if one sins and fall short of the glory of God they can be forgiven and freed by His grace through redemption which comes by Jesus Christ. (1Timothy. 2:9-10, Deuteronomy 22:5, 1 John 4:14-15)
We believe that God condemns any intimate, sexual activity outside a marriage between a man and a woman. We reject homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, and adultery as sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex to married couples (Gen. 2:24, 19:5-13, 26:8-9, Lev. 18:1-30, Rom. 1:26-29, 1Cor. 5:1, 6:9, 1Thes. 4:1-8, Heb. 13:4).
We believe that Jesus Christ loves all of humanity equally, and in his love, he commands that all repent and be converted for all unrighteousness is sin. He is just and able to forgive all sins, and desires for the world to live a Holy, righteous life free from sin.
Baptism is commanded by Christ. It’s an action that demonstrates that our commitment to Him is real and that we have truly believed, and identified, with the gospel message. However, baptism is not the means by which God offers salvation to us; we are saved only by God’s grace through our faith in Christ Jesus. Baptism shows that we have understood what Christ Jesus has done for us in His death, burial and resurrection. At The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ we baptize by full immersion. We do this to follow the biblical example and to honor the symbolism of baptism. Being fully immersed in water symbolically portrays His death and burial and being raised up shows His resurrection. Immersion also symbolizes that, in receiving Christ, we die to our sin and are raised to live a new life (Romans 6:11). Baptism, then, is an outward sign of our faith commitment. The Bible has a lot to say about baptism…
You will notice that there is a sequence, or steps, clear in Scripture, “belief” followed by “baptism”.
We teach and maintain that all believers should obey Christ’s command and demonstrate their faith in Him through the water baptism.
